Keeping Up With The Knabstruppers

main.jpg

Cleopatra vom Niehaus is a baroque Knabstrupper who was imported by London Lane Stud from Germany.  A number of years ago, she found her perfect home with Marna Smith who owns The Majestic Knabstrupper Stud (www.knabstrupper.co.za)

She is a quality mare and has produced these two magnificent foals for Marna –

Majestic Cherry Blossom and Majestic Don Antonio.

Knabstruppers are one of the oldest breeds in the world and are listed in the top ten rare horse breeds.  They are known for their amazing temperaments and are very versatile.  They are excellent dressage horses due to their conformations and are able to do high level dressage movements with ease.  I have also seen many very talented Knabstrupper jumpers.  For more information on the breed, google Knabstrupper or best of all, contact Marna (083 232 7636) who has spent a lot of time and money getting some of the finest Knabstrupper lines into the country.  She has a superb collection of Knabstruppers for sale.  Once you have owned a Knabstrupper, you will always want one in your life!

And news on another Knabstrupper who we brought into the country, Moenchshof’s Ratz Fatz, owned and loved by Debbie Rangousis who had a successful dressage career in the Medium level with him and then trusted him to look after her young daughter who started riding him.  He treated her like gold!  We wish Ratzi (lovingly known as the Mudstrupper) a happy and healthy retirement in Natal.  He deserves every second of it!  Ratzi, please don’t harass the older mares – they definitely don’t want your amorous attention.  We don’t want you to get “fired” from another retirement farm 😊 😊  What a character!
